Utah's late-week forecast could be summed up like this: Break out the shorts, T-shirts and sandals, apply sun block lotion liberally, don a sun hat — and hold on to it.
The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies, warm temperatures and gusty winds for the state Thursday, an encore for its Wednesday forecast. In northern Utah, highs in the mid- to upper-70s and winds of 10-25 mph were expected, while southern Utahns looked for the mercury to climb into the mid- to upper-80s with winds of 15-30 mph.
The Utah Division of Air Quality raised its "Green," or healthy air flags statewide, while the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma rated only mulberry as"high" on its pollen index as of Wednesday.
Salt Lake City's high Thursday of 77 degrees was 3 degrees lower than Wednesday's forecast; Ogden looked for highs of 72 and 77, respectively; Provo 80 and 82; Logan 70 and 72; Wendover 67 and 72; Duchesne 79s; Cedar City 76 and 79; St. George 86 and 90; and Moab 90 and 88 degrees.
