Two sisters solicited for sex while walking on an Orem street told their father; angry, he called police and helped set up a sting that resulted in the arrests of two men.

Orem police Lt. Craig Martinez said the suspects, ages 36 and 27, remained in the Utah County jail Thursday, where they were booked on Wednesday on suspicion of enticing a minor and sexual solicitation counts.

The girls, ages 16 and 14, were walking in the 800 North block of State Street on Wednesday when one of the suspects, described as a Latino man, pulled his car next to them. "Do you need some money?" he asked, and then handed the 14-year-old girl a $5 bill and a note with his phone number.

"If you want some more money, call me," he allegedly added before driving away.

When the girls told their father, he had the 16-year-old girl call the man back to ask him what his intentions were. It was then the man allegedly offered her $30 for sex, and said he had a friend he wanted to bring along if they met.

The father then called police.

"When we got involved our detectives decided to set up a sting," Martinez said. "The victims agreed to meet the two suspects at Orem Junior High School, and when the suspects showed up they were arrested."
