A woman suffered critical injuries Wednesday night in a Riverton crash.

The 54-year-old woman was going west on 12600 South in her Geo Metro and reached the intersection with 2700 West, where an eastbound Ford F-350 was turning left to go north, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. The truck collided with the Geo Metro at 9:03 p.m., trapping the woman inside her car.

Emergency responders had to cut the woman out of the vehicle before taking her to the hospital in critical condition, Hoyal said.

It was not immediately known whether the truck driver, a 37-year-old woman, had any injuries.

Police shut down 12600 South between 2600 West and 2800 West to investigate the crash.
