If you are a frequent flier or just a sometimes traveler, officials want your input on the proposed $1.8 billion facility that will replace the Salt Lake City International Airport.
Construction is set to begin in one year.
The new airport will be located just to the north and west of the existing terminals, said spokeswoman Barbara Gann, and will take eight to 10 years to complete. The main terminal should be completed in five years.
The existing facility will operate while the new one gets built.
"We are at the part of the process where we are about to start schematics," Gann said Monday. "We want to solicit information from travelers and residents to forward to our architects and engineers."

The Salt Lake City International Airport serves about 21 million passengers per year. The new airport will accommodate some 24 million annually, according to the proposal. The U-shaped concourses will be replaced by a linear design that has fewer gates but is more efficient.
A new three-story, 700,000-square-foot terminal will replace the 50-year-old Terminal 1, the 33-year-old Terminal 2, and the 15-year-old Terminal 3.
Airport construction will require no new taxes from residents, according to city officials. The debt will be born by airline fees, as well as passenger fees.
Information from travelers and others will help designers make the new facility more user-friendly and more efficient, Gann said.
"There is no idea that is too big or too small," she said. "We are anxious to hear what people have to say. Their experience is valuable."
