Utah weather gets a case of the Monday blues

The day after Cinco de Mayo, forecasters were predicting hangover weather.

Following a mostly sunny and warm weekend, forecasters Monday expected cloudy skies and possible rain all along the Wasatch Front. According to the National Weather Service, highs in Salt Lake, Tooele, Weber and Utah counties Monday should reach the low 70s, with a chance of thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon.

That patterns should persist until at least Wednesday along the Wasatch Front, according to forecasters, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Lows Monday and Tuesday night will dip into the low 50s and upper 40s.

In southern Utah, forecasters also expect cloudy, damp weather Monday and Tuesday. In St. George and Cedar City, temperatures will reach the upper 70s and mid 60s respectively. Both cities may see rain in the morning, followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Air quality along the Wasatch Front also appeared to have a case of the Monday blues, with moderate conditions expected in Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Utah counties.

In Salt Lake City, forecasters predicted a high of 72 Monday and 67 Tuesday; Provo, 70 and 69, respectively; Ogden, 71 and 66; Tooele, 69 and 66; Logan, 71 and 64; Park City, 60 and 56; Wendover, 71 and 66; Duchesne, 65 and 65; St. George, 77 and 73; Cedar City, 66 and 61; Moab, 71 and 70.
