A 35-year-old Harrisville man died Tuesday after he fell 25 feet from the roof of a West Haven storage structure.

The accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. near 2873 W. 1800 South.

Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said the man was a welder working to install metal roofing on a structure being built to store equipment at an agricultural business.

Lowther said the man was wearing a safety harness, but had unhooked it to reach for some materials. While he was unhooked, the wind began blowing and a piece of unsecured metal roofing knocked him off the roof.

EMTs and a medical helicopter responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
