A rugby player for the Southern Utah University team has been accused of raping a woman near the school's Cedar City campus.

Aaron Jeffery Price, 19, was charged with first-degree felony rape on Friday in 5th District Court. Price is from West Jordan.

A probable-cause statement filed with the charges alleges that Price forcefully carried the woman to a bedroom, held her down and had sex with her against her will. The woman told police about the alleged crime, and investigators found she had injuries that were consistent with her account, the statement reads.

Forensic evidence collected at the scene where the alleged rape took place also corroborated her statement, according to police.

Police also said that Price admitted to forcing the woman to have sex with him despite her telling him no and trying to fight him off.

Price was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Iron County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Jail records indicate that Price had posted bond as of Friday.
