Northern Utah is in for a warmer but still wet weekend, while the southern reaches of the state anticipated balmy and sunny conditions.

High temperatures Saturday along the Wasatch Front were forecast to range into the mid-50s after a spell of morning rain showers. In Utah Dixie, the mercury was to soar into the mid-70s under mostly clear skies.

The northwest quarter of the state and a good portion of southeastern Utah dawned Friday under a Hard Freeze Warning, but that National Weather Service advisory expired at 9 a.m. Overnight lows this weekend were forecast to be in the 40s in the north and 50s in the south.

The Utah Division of Air Quality rated breathability statewide at "Green," or healthy throughout the weekend.
