Family members and police are searching for a Provo girl who didn't return home from school on Monday.

The Provo Police Department said Monday that 14-year-old Charice Beaumont was reported missing at about 3:30 p.m., when her parents found out that she never showed up at school.

Beaumont's parents said that the girl sent an email to a friend at 8:30 a.m. before she left for school on Monday, according to police.

Police contacted people in the area of 650 North and 1150 West. Neighbors, police and staff from Dixon Middle School were assisting in the search.

"Detectives are working closely with the family to help locate the missing girl," police said in a news release Monday evening.

Beaumont is described as having blond hair and green eyes. She is about 4-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs 68 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call Provo police at 801-852-6215.
