A breezy, cloudy and periodically wet weekend was ahead for northern Utah.
The National Weather Service predicted high temperatures for Saturday in the mid-60s, up a few degrees from the highs forecast for the Wasatch Front on Friday. Rain showers were expected Saturday afternoon and evening.
Southern Utahns were to see mostly clear, sunny skies and highs in the low- to mid-80s on Saturday, up 5-7 degrees from Friday's readings. Utah's Dixie was also expecting winds of 15-25 mph, and gusts above 30 mph through the weekend.
The Utah Division of Air Quality rated the entire state as being in the "Green," or healthy breathing category.
The Utah Avalanche Center, in its last weekend of daily forecasts for the season, rated the Uintas at "considerable" risk for dangerous snow slides while the remainder of the state earned "moderate" risk grades.
Salt Lake City's high on Saturday was pegged at 65, up from Friday's 60-degree forecast; Ogden looked for 60 and 58 degrees, respectively; Provo 68 and 61; Logan 55 and 59; Wendover 66 and 60; Duchesne 66 and 59; Cedar City 71 and 62; St. George 84 and 78; and Moab 76 and 64 degrees.
