The Utah Department of Transportation has temporarily closed portions of two major thoroughfares — one due to construction work and another due to weather.

Northbound Interstate 15 connecting to eastbound Interstate 215 at 7200 South, was ordered closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 4 a.m. Thursday for road work.

UDOT advised motorists to use 5300 South or Redwood Road exits to re-enter I-15 to go onto eastbound I-215.

In south-central Utah's Iron County, Highway 143 from Mammoth Creek Road to Brian Head was closed late Wednesday morning due to blowing snow and poor visibility. It was uncertain when the highway would be reopened.
