A weekend checkpoint is planned in Lindon as part of a multi-agency law enforcement crackdown on DUI drivers.

Lindon Police Chief Cody Cullimore said Wednesday that the checkpoint will be operated at Center Street and Geneva Road (Highway 114) by his officers, the Utah County Sheriff's Department and the Utah Highway Patrol on Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The checkpoint location ... is a roadway which historically accounts for a large number of traffic accidents and traffic related offenses. The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to detect drivers that may be operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs," Cullimore said.
