An elderly Cottonwood Heights woman died Wednesday, the day after she was struck by a car backing out of a steep driveway.
Sheralyn Quinney, 75, died of complications related to injuries from the accident, according to Cottonwood Heights police Sgt. Gary Young.
The woman underwent emergency surgery Tuesday afternoon at Intermountain Medical Center.
Quinney was walking with her husband, also 75 — who was not hurt — near 3600 East and 8200 South when hit. The driver did not see the couple until too late.
The woman was knocked down and hit her head on the concrete. Unified Fire Department paramedics responded and the woman was transported to Intermountain Medical Center.
Young said the investigation is ongoing and no citations have yet been issued.
