The Weber County Sheriff's Department has identified a 3-year-old girl who died over the weekend after becoming tangled by her neck in the ropes of a swing set.

Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said Gracie Becker died Saturday afternoon at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where she had been flown by medical helicopter last Thursday night from her home in Farr West.

In releasing the girl's identity on Monday, Lowther asked that "Gracie's family be allowed to grieve and prepare for Gracie's funeral in peace, without intrusion from the media."

The victim was found by her father about 7:30 p.m. Thursday less than five minutes after she had left the house to play on the backyard swing set.
