An Ogden woman was killed Sunday morning after she lost control of her vehicle and plowed into a pole and a parked car.

Ogden police Lt. Troy Burnett said the 41-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released pending the notification of her family, was driving southbound about 6:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of Harrison Boulevard when she left the roadway at a high rate of speed, drove up over a curb and hit a light pole.

Burnett said the woman’s vehicle continued on and struck a Cadillac Escalade that was parked in a driveway. The impact propelled the Cadillac about 50 feet into a second vehicle parked in another driveway.

Burnett said the woman was transported to an Ogden hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators were trying to determine Sunday what caused the woman to lose control.

No one else was injured.
