Firefighters were able to quickly suppress a fire that was reported Tuesday evening in Millcreek, although the extent of the damage to the home was not yet known.

Unified Fire Authority Captain Clint Mecham said crews responded to a 911 call at about 7:45 p.m. and within five minutes put out a fire on the 1300 block of East Winderbrook Way (4360 South) that had started somewhere inside the house.

Mecham said that the house was still relatively intact and that firefighters had begun salvage and overhaul work at the scene.
