A 67-year-old Springville man has pleaded not guilty to 38 felony charges accusing him of running a prostitution ring inside his home.

Kenneth Michael Bond is charged in 4th District Court with 21 counts of object rape, two counts of aggravated exploitation of a prostitute, five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and 10 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Bond's pleas came Monday after a judge heard evidence from prosecutors at a preliminary hearing and ruled that there was enough evidence for the man to stand trial on the charges. Prosecutors agreed to drop one count of rape on Monday.

Bond will appear in court next on May 28, and a five-day trial is slated to begin on June 5.

According to a probable cause statement, Bond operated a house of prostitution in his Springville home from January 2011 through July 2011.

Bond is accused of not only offering two teenage victims money, iPhones, manicures and other gifts to have sex with various men, but he also offered at least one 24-year-old man money to have sex with a 15-year-old girl, according to prosecutors.

Bond also allegedly threatened the teenage girls, saying he would send "big guys" to harm the girls and their families if they did not have sex with various men, according to the probable cause statement.

On at least 10 occasions, Bond allegedly administered a "DNA body wash" on a 15-year-old girl to "wipe away any evidence of the prostituted sex."

Bond is also accused of having a camera wired from his home office — where the alleged sexual acts occurred — to another location at his house, where he would watch the sex acts live.

In addition, between February and November 2008, prosecutors accuse Bond of engaging in sexual behavior with a 17-year-old girl. According to the probable cause statement, Bond would put on a bullet-proof vest and threaten the victim with a handgun if she refused to comply with his sexual demands. Bond also allegedly gave a number of gifts to the 17-year-old, including cash, clothing, lingerie, hair styling and manicures.
