Firefighters rushed to the scene of a structure fire late Wednesday morning at an abandoned downtown Salt Lake City home.

The blaze at 838 S. Jefferson Street (140 West), called in about 10:20 a.m., was contained by 10:50 a.m.

No injuries were reported, according to fire spokesman Jasen Asay.

Fire investigators did not find anyone inside the boarded-up, two-story home but were investigating whether transients may have been involved.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
