Those events are designed to attract people to tents set up at each resort base (by Collins lift at Alta, on the plaza at Snowbird) for "Love Give Utah," a statewide day of charitable giving organized by the Community Foundation of Utah. Donations will be accepted onsite or online for two endeavors, with matching grants of up to $1,000 available from organizations serving Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Money donated to the "Give to Alta" project will be split evenly between Friends of Alta, Alta Community Enrichment and the Alta Historical Society. Board members of those three nonprofit groups will provide matching contributions. Online donations may be made at www.razoo.com/story/Alta.

Alta Ski Area also is pledging to match up to $1,000 in donations to the "Give to Little Cottonwood Canyon" project, whose proceeds will be divided between Wasatch Backcountry Rescue, the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation and Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The online page for these donations is www.razoo.com/story/LCC.
