Logan police arrested a patient at an assisted-living facility late Thursday for allegedly trying to kill a female worker.
Police say the 25-year-old patient at Northeastern Services, 581 W. 100 South, tried to strangle a woman who worked there. Police received word of the incident at 10:23 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, the man attacked the woman in his bedroom after becoming violent and suicidal. Another patient heard the commotion and called for help. A second worker at the facility then kicked down the door to the man’s room and stopped the assault.
The woman was unconscious but soon recovered. Logan Police Assistant Chief Jeff Curtis said Friday that she is fine physically but remains shaken up by the incident.
Curtis also said that by the time police arrived the initial assault against the woman had ended but the man was still acting violently.
He was booked into the Cache County jail on suspicion of attempted murder and simple assault.
Northeastern Services area director Rich Sharp said Friday that the "situation is fine," but declined to provide further details.
Sharp said the facility provides assistance to people with intellectual disabilities.
