A man robbed a Salt Lake City smoke shop late Wednesday and remained at large Thursday morning.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said a man held up Pharaoh’s Smoke Shop, located at 3925 S. State Street, at 10:26 p.m. The man walked into the store, pulled out a black pistol and demanded cash, Hoyal added.

A store clerk supplied an undisclosed amount of cash and the man fled. According to Hoyal, the man ran toward a nearby car dealership where he disappeared. Officers set up a containment area and searched for the man but never found him.
Hoyal described the suspect as an black man standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He had a squared off goatee and was wearing black pants, a hoodie, a beanie and used a scarf to obscure his face. Hoyal said the man is armed and dangerous.
