West Jordan • The man known as "Twisted," who police said methodically gunned down three people in a Midvale house last month, appeared in court Tuesday on charges of aggravated murder.

David Fresques, 25, has been charged in 3rd District Court three counts of first-degree felony aggravated murder in the deaths of Omar Paul Jarman, 35, Shontay Nichole Young, 34, and Danielle Beatrice Lucero, 26.

Fresques also is charged with one count of first-degree felony attempted aggravated murder for allegedly wounding 53-year-old Vickie Myers in the shoulder.

An ex-con with gang ties and a long history of criminal violence, Fresques was appointed a public defense attorney after being declared indigent by the court Tuesday.

According to court documents, Fresques on Feb. 12 went from room to room inside the home at 8286 S. Adams St. (450 West), firing at his victims. The shootings were methodical, and perhaps selective, police have said.

Fresques was arrested one day after the shootings and is now being held without bond in the Salt Lake County jail.

A motive for the murders has not been identified, though authorities said the home was a "known drug house." No weapon has been recovered.

Fresques was scheduled to make his first appearance Thursday, but the jail transported him two days ahead of time. He is due back in court for a scheduling conference before judge Mark Kouris on March 26.

His appearance came just days after a second man believed to have helped Fresques flee the scene was arrested.

Davis Romney Fotu, 33, was found in an East Millcreek condo on Sunday during an unrelated probation check.

After a Unified Police officer recognized him, Fotu reportedly resisted arrest and was shot multiple times with a Taser. Police later booked him into jail on suspicion of one count of obstruction of justice.
