A woman in Draper found a nasty surprise in her doughnut Wednesday night.
Two women and a man bought doughnuts at the Smith’s at 262 E. 12300 South, but when they started eating them, one of the women bit something hard, said Sgt. Chad Carpenter. Turns out it was a triangular piece of sharp metal.

Two of them sought medical attention following the discovery, though police did not know their condition as of Thursday evening.
Draper police contacted the store and made them aware of the metal and are investigating the incident as an assault.
"We want to make sure we cover all the bases ... in case it was an intentional thing," Carpenter said, though at this point investigators do not have a suspect or person of interest.
