Thrift store opening » A ribbon cutting will be held at Utah’s second Goodwill store at 8:45 a.m. March 14 at 6042 S. State St., with the doors opening at 9 a.m. The first 500 shoppers through the door will receive a free canvas shopping bag and everyone can enter to win an iPad Mini, Goodwill gift cards and other prizes. Easter Seals-Goodwill opened its first store last April at 4545 S. 900 East in Millcreek.

Program for homeschooled kids » Students from ages 5 to 12 are invited to join the Homeschool Club, which meets from 1 to 2 p.m. the second Monday of every month in the Murray Library auditorium, 166 E. 5300 South. Each session includes presentations, activities, projects or games. The program is free; call 801-264-2587 to sign up.
