Police have identified a Salt Lake City woman who was found dead in her bathtub, the victim of an apparent accidental drowning.

Detectives said Monday that Jennica Jarvis, 25, appeared to have slipped, fallen and hit her head, rendering her unconscious as the water running into her tub continued to flow, eventually covering her face Friday night.

Police and firefighters went to Jarvis’ apartment at 555 S. 200 East after receiving a 911 call about 10 p.m. Friday. Her body was found in the tub, the water still running.

While the death remained under investigation, it was not believed anyone else was in the apartment at the time of Jarvis’ death, police said.
