A woman who was hit by a car while crossing a South Salt Lake street Saturday night has died.
South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said Sunday that Maria DeAquino, 26, of Salt Lake City, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arriving.

He said DeAquino was attempting about 7:15 p.m. to cross to a bus stop at 3605 S. State St. when she was struck by a Toyota Prius.
She was not in a crosswalk at the time, Keller said. He said DeAquino went to that bus stop every day after work.
Keller said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
