Forum on SkiLink plan is Thursday night in Park City
A public forum on the proposed SkiLink gondola will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Church, 4595 N. Silver Springs Drive in Snyderville, just outside of Park City
Leslie Thatcher from KPCW will moderate a panel discussion on the proposal, which would connect Canyons Resort on the Park City side of the Wasatch ridgeline and Solitude Mountain Resort on the Big Cottonwood Canyon side.
Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, has introduced legislation in Congress to require the U.S. Forest Service to sell 30 acres within the gondola's contemplated right of way to expedite the process, but the bill has not advanced.
Participants in the panel discussion will be Canyons Managing Director Mike Goar, Solitude owner David DeSeelhorst, Save Our Canyons Executive Director Carl Fisher and Laura Briefer, a watershed specialist in the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities. A question-and-answer session will follow the discussion.
Forum sponsors include The Project for Deeper Understanding, St. Luke's and Park City Sunrise Rotary.
