A Syracuse police lieutenant has resigned amid an internal investigation that may result in charges.
The police department has concluded its investigation of Tracy Jensen, who was a lieutenant until he resigned earlier this month. Police Chief Garret Atkin could not comment on why Jensen was investigated or when the internal investigation began.

Jensen had been with the department for about 15 years and has acted as its spokesman.
Robert Rice, the city manager, said he received a letter of resignation from Jensen on Feb. 20, who did not give a reason for his departure.
When reached by phone on Wednesday, Jensen said that he left the department because he and Atkin sometimes didn’t "see eye to eye." He added that he was not aware of an investigation.
