A high-speed chase that began Monday afternoon in Lehi, ended at about 5:10 p.m. on Interstate 15 north of Farmington.

The freeway is closed from Farmington north, and will likely remain that way until least 6:30 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

UHP spokesman Cpl. Todd Johnson said the chase began in Lehi and moved onto Interstate 15, crossing into Salt Lake County just after 4:30 p.m.

Troopers were assisting the Lehi Police Department in attempting to lay spikes down on the highway to try and stop the unidentified driver.

By about 5 p.m., the chase had entered Davis County and was proceeding north of Farmington.

At 5:10 p.m., UHP tweeted that the pursuit had ended near the Layton Parkway exit near mile post 329, which is about five miles north of Farmington.

The Utah Department of Transportation said northbound I-15 was closed from Park Lane Road, just north of Farmington, and Hill Field Road.

It wasn't immediately clear whom police were chasing and why.

More information will be posted about the chase when it becomes available.
