Civics Central: West Valley City considers ethics commission, Salt Lake County updated on new offices for D.A.

Here’s your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. Government agencies have until 24 hours before a meeting to post their agendas, so check back as this schedule will be updated. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

American Fork City Council • Will hold a public hearing for input on adopting a Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation impact fee. There is also a proposal for an irrigation and culinary water impact fee; Tuesday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m. 31 N. Church St., American Fork. View the American Fork agenda.

Cottonwood Heights City Council » Will hold public hearings on proposals to adjust the city’s common boundary with Holladay along 3000 East and 6360 South and the common boundary with Sandy along Creek Road; Tuesday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m., 1265 E. Davis County Commission • Will hear reports on "Year of the Bike" and on the Davis County VOCA (Victims of Crime Act); Tuesday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Main St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Farmington Planning Commission • Will hold a public hearing on a proposed new chapter to the zoning ordinance titled Commercial Recreation Transition Zone and then consider rezoning approximately 1 acre at 653 N. Main; Thursday, Feb. 28, 7 p.m., 160 S. Main, Farmington.

Orem City Council • Will discuss at a study meeting the Utah Infrastructure Agency (UIA), a financing arm of UTOPIA fiber optic communication service; Tuesday, Feb. 26, 4 p.m., 56 N. State St., Orem. View the Orem agenda.

Salt Lake County Council • Will receive an update on plans for a new headquarters’ building for the District Attorney’s Office and a proposal from the County Sheriff’s Office to provide its own mental health services in jails, rather than using a contractor; Tuesday, Feb. 26, 1:30 p.m., Room 2003, North Building, County Government Center, 2001 S.
