Off-season entry fees are normally $9.75 for adults and $7.75 for seniors and children age 3 to 12. Toddlers under 3 get in for free.
Zoo spokeswoman Erica Hansen said the whiteout will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rocky Shores exhibit, with a talk by a polar bear keeper at 1:15 p.m. Children may have their pictures taken near PB, the zoo’s polar bear mascot, play polar games and make crafts, which may be taken home, that provide information about conserving energy.
The event will take place in the exhibit’s Tidewater Cove underwater viewing building, allowing visitors to stay warm if the weather Saturday is inclement, Hansen added.
