A one-vehicle crash closed down the 3200 West on-ramp to westbound State Route 201 in western Salt Lake County for about two hours early Thursday morning.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said the accident occurred just before 5 a.m. when a pickup truck westbound on SR-201 slid on an icy overpass, spun into a concrete barrier wall and then rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof.

The male driver was transported to the hospital after complaining of back pain, but did not appear to suffer life-threatening injuries, Johnson said.

Meanwhile, the Utah Department of Transportation restricted both Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons for several hours to vehicles equipped with either tire chains or four-wheel drive due to snow. The restrictions were lifted by 8:30 a.m.
