Provo mayor credits ‘diligent neighbors’ for pot bust
I am curious green? » Curtis also solicits blog readers’ marijuana nicknames.

Provo Mayor John Curtis is crediting alert neighbors for a police drug bust that put a 29-year-old man in jail — and more than 100 marijuana plants in police evidence lockers.

Cook, writing in his blog, said "diligent neighbors ... reported suspicious activity at a Provo home. Apparently the basement was doubling as an in-home greenhouse-style operation."

Police obtained a search warrant and raided the east Provo residence on Monday. The plants, with an estimated street value of $400,000, were seized.

On Tuesday, the 29-year-old suspect — who reportedly lived in the targeted home’s basement with his 5-year-old daughter — was booked into the Utah County jail on suspicion of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, possessing drug paraphernalia, cultivating marijuana, driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and driving on a suspended license.

Along with praising neighborhood tipsters in his blog, the mayor also invited his readers to tell them what euphemisms for marijuana they had heard.

"Blunt, Hash, Boom, Lazy Jane, Roach, Aunt Mary, or even Chronic. If you picked up on these nicknames, you’re likely not my typical blog visitor," Curtis wrote. "I’m curious if you can share what other creative names you’ve heard this stuff called."

How about grass, weed, pot, stick, Mary Jane, Maui Zowie, Acapulco Gold, to name a few, Mr. Mayor?
