A southern Utah man has died in a Nevada hospital after suffering serious head injures in a weekend assault.

Jeramy Shawn Olsen, 31, of St. George died Sunday at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, St. George police said in a Facebook post.

Olsen was injured in a Saturday night altercation with 31-year-old Mario Alfonso Lucero in the 1000 North block of 1240 West. Lucero fled the scene before anyone called for help, police said.

A warrant has been issued for Lucero's arrest. Bail is set at $50,000 cash.

Police said Lucero should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. He has a prior aggravated assault conviction from 2006, and he pleaded no contest to a reduced substantial bodily injury assault charge in 2011, according to a court records search.

Lucero is described as a 5-foot-6, 170 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He has numerous tattoos on his head and neck, including a spider web and a spider on his head and forehead, according to his wanted poster.

Outside of St. George, he has ties to Washington, Ivins and Hurricane, as well to Mesquite, Nev., New Mexico and Southern California, according to a wanted poster circulated by police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. George police at 435-627-4300.
