The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a woman who died in a weekend rollover in rural southeastern Utah.

UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said the victim was Lois M. Callan, 70, of Phoenix, Ariz.

Callan died Sunday after she lost control of her southbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck about 8:20 a.m. Sunday on State Road 191, 30 miles north of Blanding.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation, but it appeared that excessive speed on icy, snowpacked roads played a major part.

The pickup slid off the right shoulder with the vehicle rolling 1½ times before coming to rest on its hood.

Callan was wearing a seat belt, but still suffered fatal head and neck injuries. She was dead at the scene of the accident.
