A 40-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday morning after he fell through a skylight in Salt Lake City.
The man was on the roof of Porter Brown Distribution, a warehouse at 1971 S. 4490 West, when he fell about 50 feet, said Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay.
Paramedics learned of the incident about 10:22 a.m. and rushed to find him unconscious but breathing on his own, Asay said.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition but did not regain consciousness before he left in the ambulance, though he was moaning, Asay added.
The fire department is unsure what the man was doing when he fell. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating but declined to comment until the investigation is complete.
