The Unified Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man with a black and orange backpack who brandished a firearm while holding up a Millcreek area bank on Monday.

The robbery occurred just before 2 p.m. at the Chase Bank branch, 1306 E. 3180 South, the department said in a news release.

Witnesses told police the man entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. He also pulled a handgun out of his backpack and showed it to the teller, who handed over an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery, but police say the man is considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his 30s, with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a black, red and gray baseball hat and was carrying a backpack. Police said the man was seen leaving the bank in a late model, white, 4-door sedan with a Utah Arches license plate. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact UPD at 801-743-5890.
