The Iron County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help locating a man suspected in an attempted aggravated assault of a woman in a subdivision near Kanarraville.

The attack occurred Thursday at about 2:15 p.m. as the woman showed the man a vacant building lot in the Harmony Heights subdivision, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The victim told police the man produced a weapon during the assault. The woman was able to break free from her attacker and run to her home, about a half-mile away, police said.

Police say robbery and sexual assault appear to be the motive for the attack.

A police artist's sketch of the woman's alleged attacker was released on Friday. The suspect is described as a brown-haired, white male in his mid-30s, who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray and black striped shirt, blue jeans and a windbreaker-type jacket. He was driving a white Subaru station wagon with a California license plate.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Iron County Sheriff's Office at 435-867-7500.
