Crews were working Thursday night to off load about 3,000 gallons of fuel from a tanker that rolled in Woods Cross.

The tanker hit a jersey barrier and flipped on its side on the 2600 South on-ramp to southbound Interstate 15 about 5 p.m., said South Davis Metro Fire Deputy Chief Jeff Bassett. The tanker leaked about 50 gallons of diesel fuel because of the accident, forcing emergency responders to shut down the on-ramp.

Hazardous material teams contained the leak and were working with the Utah Department of Health to clean it up. The remaining fuel was being transferred to another tanker, and the fire department expected to reopen the on-ramp by 10 p.m.

The tanker driver was not hurt, Bassett said.
