A 24-year-old Sandy woman died Sunday morning after the vehicle she was in hit a patch of black ice and rolled in Tooele County.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said a Chevy Trailblazer was eastbound about 5:05 a.m. on Interstate 80 in Tooele County when Ethan Pitts, 33, of Sandy, hit a patch of black ice and lost control.

Troopers said the vehicle went off the roadway and rotated about 180 degrees then rolled. It came to rest on its roof.
Kristina Tree, 24, of Sandy, a passenger who wasn’t wearing her seat belt, was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pitts was wearing a seat belt and was transported to University Hospital. Troopers said he suffered serious injuries.
