Two Heber City boys died from injuries suffered after they were buried in a snowslide Friday during a snowmobile outing with their family in Wasatch County.
The boys, ages 8 and 14, were not immediately identified by the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office.
In a news release, the Sheriff's Office said the family was on the West Fork of the Duchesne Road when they stopped to take a break and their four children walked to the edge of a ridge to look down at a creek. The snow gave way under their feet, causing three children to slide down a steep embankment.
Two boys were buried in about 3 feet of snow; the third child was not buried.
Their parents worked to find them, but blocks of heavy snow made it difficult. The father kept digging while the mother left the area to call 911.
The boys were found by the father after about 30 minutes, and the parents began CPR until medical helicopters arrived.
The boys were transported to Primary Children's Medical Center, where the boys were pronounced dead.
