The Weber County Sheriff's Department has identified the elderly man who died Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 89 near Uintah.

Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said the victim was Stanley Liptrot, 90, of Weber County.

Liptrot was the only one in the car at about 4 p.m. Tuesday when it veered off the southbound lane, hit a barrier and crossed into the opposite lane.

Lowther said Wednesday that the cause of death was determined to have been an unspecified medical condition.
