Utah man shocked after climbing Idaho power pole

Gooding, Idaho » A Utah man was hospitalized in critical condition after police in Gooding say he climbed a power pole, grounded himself and was shocked, causing him to fall about 35 feet to the ground.

Gooding Police Chief Jeff Perry says police had responded to reports of a man acting suspiciously Saturday and witnessed the fall.

Officers immediately called for an ambulance and provided first aid.

The man was taken to the hospital in Gooding and then airlifted to the University of Utah Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition on Sunday.

The man’s name and hometown were not released.
