West Valley City police Sunday were investigating an overnight shooting that left a man with a wound in the ankle.
Police Lt. Dale Brophy said that about 1:30 a.m. the man limped into the ‘Bout Time Pub and Grub, 3318 S. Decker Lake Drive, bleeding from the head and ankle and asked the bartender for help.

Police responded and determined that the man had been hit in the head and shot in the ankle during a scuffle with an unknown person at a party at an apartment complex at 3100 S. 2150 West, Brophy said.
When police arrived at the apartment, the party had broken up and everyone was gone except the homeowner, who was cooperating with the investigation.
After getting shot, the man limped about a quarter-mile to the bar for help, Brophy said. He was transported to Intermountain Medical Center and was expected to survive, he said.
Brophy said the incident was possibly drug-related.
