At least 200 people were stranded Thursday evening on a FrontRunner train that broke down near the Point of the Mountain.
"It’s the most inconvenient location [for this to occur] on the entire line," said Utah Transit Authority spokesman Gerry Carpenter.

About 5:30 p.m., a southbound train broke down in the Jordan River Narrows area near the Point of the Mountain, a spot between the Draper and Lehi stations that blocks any other trains from going around the interruption and one that’s difficult for UTA personnel to access.
The operator could not get the train moving again, so UTA arranged for buses to move passengers between the Draper and Lehi stations. UTA was finally able to get the train going about 7 p.m., but will keep the train out of service until they can identify the problem.
