The board of directors for Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU) announced Thursday that Trina Taylor is the organization’s new executive director. According to a news release, Taylor has worked at PCAU for nearly 17 years as a bilingual prevention specialist and associate director.

Taylor’s colleagues spoke highly of her Thursday. Darren Shepherd, a PCAU board member, said Taylor previously was employed part time but worked as if she had a full-time job. Shepherd added that PCAU is fortunate that Taylor was able to accept a full-time position.
"She is outstanding," he said.
Marketing director Cathy Green said Taylor will be responsible for expanding PCAU’s reach throughout the state. Taylor will work with programs that serve 50,000 kids, Green said.
Taylor did not immediately return phone calls Thursday, but said in the news release that preventing child abuse is her passion.
