A Sandy police officer suffered minor injuries when her unmarked car was struck by an SUV late Thursday morning.

Sandy police Sgt. John Arnold said the crash sent the officer's car rolling about 10:20 a.m. in the intersection of 9140 S. and 700 East. The officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Two female occupants of the SUV were treated at the scene for minor injuries as well.

Arnold said the intersection is controlled by a stop sign, but no citations had been issued. The cause of the accident will be investigated by the Utah Highway Patrol, since a Sandy officer was involved.
