Theater popcorn, check. Extra butter with that? No, but you can top it off with your cash.

Salt Lake City police say that's pretty much how things went for a concession stand worker at the Movies 10 theater in Sugar House about 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Det. Carlie Marston said the man, described as "an older white male" wearing a dark green coat with a fur-lined hood and dark pants, approached the stand and ordered a bag of popcorn. When the clerk turned around with the bag, he flashed a handgun and told her to add cash from the till.

The clerk complied and the man fled out of the theater, located at 2227 S. Highland Drive, and then ran into the parking lot. He was seen getting into a tan sedan and driving away.
