Ogden firefighters quickly extinguished a shed fire early Sunday.

Firefighters said they responded about 2:10 a.m. to a home at 464 Kiesel Ave. and found the home's detached shed fully engulfed in flames.

When firefighters arrived, a man who lived in the shed had already escaped without injury after the fire woke him. He then evacuated his father and two dogs from the main residence, firefighters said.

The blaze destroyed the shed, but the home suffered minimal damage. Fire officials estimate the fire caused about $18,000 in damage.

The cause remained under investigation Sunday.
