A Logan teenager will spend up to 15 years in the Utah State Prison for his role in a 2011 crime spree that ended with him holding a gun to the head of a convenience store clerk.
Lolo Latu, 17, pleaded guilty in September to aggravated robbery and theft, both second-degree felonies. A second theft charge, along with charges of use of a firearm by a restricted person and failure to stop for police, were dismissed as part of a plea deal. Latu was 16 when the crimes were committed, but he was certified as an adult.
Latu was one of three teenagers charged with stealing guns from a pawnshop, stealing a car and then threatening the store clerk after he had just closed up shop last December.
On Monday, 1st District Judge Thomas Willmore sentenced Latu to spend one to 15 years in prison.
